WSCC MACHINE TOOL TECHNOLOGY TO HOST CNC MACHINING CAMP JULY 13-15

HANCEVILLE, Ala. — Wallace State’s Machine Tool Technology/CNC program is hosting a CNC introductory camp for high school juniors and seniors. The camp will be held at the Hanceville campus in the Herb Black Machining Building on July 13-15 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Students will have the opportunity to gain hands-on training with specialized equipment to gain valuable machining experience. At the bootcamp, participants will learn part design, CAD-CAM, configuring tool offsets, setting up machines, and operating CNC equipment safely and proficiently. The last day of the camp will include an industry tour.  

“We're giving each camper the opportunity to design, program, and machine a personalized LEGO block featuring their own name,” says Justin Burnett, Machine Tool Technology Department Chair. “It's a project they'll enjoy creating, but it also reinforces the idea of 'Build Your Career.' We hope it serves as a reminder that every career starts with a single step, and that this camp could be the beginning of an exciting journey into the world of machining.”  

Snacks and a camp t-shirt will be provided.
