Wallace State Men Deliver Complete Road Performance in 97–75 Win at East Mississippi

Scooba, Miss. — Wallace State men’s basketball turned in one of its most complete performances of the season Tuesday night, pulling away early and never looking back in a convincing 97–75 road victory over East Mississippi.

After the teams were locked in a 19–19 tie midway through the first half, Wallace State seized control with a decisive 21–6 run that shifted momentum firmly in the Lions’ favor. A 12–0 spurt during that stretch helped the Lions build a 37–23 advantage, and Wallace continued to apply pressure on both ends of the floor to take a 51–34 lead into halftime.

Depth and ball movement fueled Wallace State’s first-half success, as the Lions’ bench poured in 29 points before the break. Wallace also capitalized on East Mississippi turnovers, scoring 16 points off miscues while consistently pushing the pace in transition.

Wallace State wasted no time extending the lead after halftime. The Lions closed the first half and opened the second on a combined 10–0 run to push the margin to 56–34. Later in the second half, an 8–0 run stretched the advantage to 75–53, marking Wallace State’s largest lead of the night at 22 points.

Offensively, Wallace State was sharp from the perimeter, shooting 46 percent from three-point range (17-of-37), with nine different Lions connecting from beyond the arc. The Lions also knocked down 75 percent of their free throws and shared the ball effectively, recording 23 assists on the night.

Viczavious Madden led Wallace State with 16 points, adding seven rebounds, four assists and two steals in a strong all-around performance. Jaeden Rush followed with 15 points, six rebounds, seven assists and a steal, while Sawyer Griffin added 12 points on efficient shooting.

Tyson Barrett finished with 11 points, six rebounds and a block, and Devan Rush also scored 11 points. Troy Wilson chipped in nine points, Trey Knight added seven points and six assists, and Kylen Clark contributed six points, three assists and two steals.

Austin Davenport was active on the glass, pulling down a team-high 10 rebounds to go with four points, while Kohl Key and Julian King each added three points.

Wallace State also controlled the boards, grabbing 13 offensive rebounds that led to 10 second-chance points.

With balanced scoring, disciplined defense and efficient shooting, the Lions capped the night with a statement road win built on energy, execution and depth.
