Wallace State Cross Country Posts Strong Finishes at Firehawk Invitational

PULASKI, Tenn. – Wallace State men’s and women’s cross country turned in strong performances on Saturday at the Firehawk Invitational hosted by UT Southern, with both squads placing inside the top five in the team standings.
Men’s Team – 4th Place Finish
The Lions’ men’s team secured a 4th-place finish overall, placing five runners inside the top 26.
- Tyler Anthony led the way with a 15th-place finish, clocking 26:34.50.
- Elliot Denard was close behind in 17th at 26:42.81.
- Daniel Leija added a 19th-place showing with a time of 26:48.27.
The depth of Wallace State’s lineup proved pivotal as the Lions packed well through their scoring five to hold onto a top-four finish in a competitive field.
Women’s Team – 5th Place Finish
On the women’s side, Wallace State claimed 5th place overall, with five runners in the top 35.
- Brooklyn Morgan paced the team with a 10th-place finish at 22:52.47.
- Grace Gosline turned in a solid effort, finishing 27th in 24:16.83.
The Lions’ consistency across the lineup helped secure another strong outing against a deep field of regional opponents.

Wallace State returns to action on Saturday at the ON CLOUD Twilight Runninglane Invitational at John Hunt Park in Huntsville, where the Lions will look to build on their momentum.
