Women’s Basketball Triumphs Over Chattanooga State, 79-64
HANCEVILLE, Ala. — The Wallace State Community College Women’s Basketball team secured
a commanding 79-64 victory over Chattanooga State Community College on Saturday afternoon
at Tom Drake Coliseum.
Sophomore guard Kameron Sanders led the way for the Lady Lions with a stellar double-double
performance, posting 18 points and a game-high 15 rebounds. Sophomore guard Nylaa
Fuller delivered a career-best performance, scoring a team-high 21 points while grabbing
eight rebounds and going 9-for-10 from the free-throw line.
The Lady Lions pulled ahead in the third quarter, outscoring Chattanooga State 28-17
to take control of the game. Wallace State showcased balanced scoring, with freshman
guard Heather Tetro adding 11 points and freshman guard Idaysia Mercer contributing
12 points off the bench.
Wallace State displayed strong offensive efficiency, shooting 46.4 percent from the
field and 76.9 percent from the free-throw line. The team also dominated the boards,
with a 37-17 rebounding edge.
