Lady Lions Secure 66-44 Win Over Snead State
HANCEVILLE, Ala. — The Wallace State Community College Women’s Basketball team continued
their strong season with a decisive 66-44 victory over Snead State Community College
on Thursday night. The Lady Lions showcased their efficiency on both ends of the court,
shooting 50% from the field while limiting Snead State to 34.1 percent.
Freshman guard Idaysia Mercer led the team with 16 points, shooting an impressive
7-for-10 from the field. Sophomore guard Kallie Tinker added 12 points, connecting
on four three-pointers. Freshman forward Sinaya Gibson contributed 11 points and grabbed
seven rebounds, demonstrating dominance in the paint.
The Lady Lions established their lead early, outscoring Snead State 18-11 in the first
quarter and holding them to just five points in the second quarter. Their defense
forced nine turnovers and limited Snead State's key players throughout the game.
With the win, Wallace State improves to 6-0 and continues to build momentum this season.
