Wallace State Softball Defeats Coastal Alabama in 11-4 Victory
Hanceville, AL — In a commanding performance, the Wallace State Community College softball team secured an 11-4 victory over Coastal Alabama Community College - South during the first game of a conference doubleheader on April 16, 2024.
With precision from both offense and defense, Wallace State displayed their dominance from the start. Caroline Cartron led the offensive charge, going 4-for-5 at the plate and contributing two runs and an RBI. Jadyn Foster also showcased her skills, reaching base four times and scoring three runs for her team.
The offensive highlight of the game came from Laura Leigh Wheeler, whose powerful bat delivered six RBIs courtesy of two home runs. Wheeler's performance proved crucial in securing Wallace State's victory.
Adding to the offensive highlights, Bayleigh Rouse delivered a stellar performance, going 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBIs.
On the mound, Lily Boswell commanded the game for Wallace State, pitching a solid six innings while allowing four runs on five hits.
The victory in the first game of the doubleheader set the stage for Wallace State to clinch another win in the subsequent game.
