Wallace State Softball Beats Snead State 8-5 in Game 1 of Conference Doubleheader
Hanceville, AL — On March 10, 2024, Wallace State Community College's softball team secured an impressive 8-5 victory over Snead State Community College during the first game of a conference doubleheader at the Lady Parsons Softball Field.
The Lions came out swinging, setting the tone early in the game. Brandy Phillips, Laura Leigh Wheeler and Jessie Taylor paved the way, contributing crucial hits and runs to build momentum for Wallace State. Wheeler sent the ball over the fence, adding a home run to the team's offensive display.
Bayleigh Rouse and Jadyn Foster showcased their skill and determination, each driving in runs to extend Wallace State's lead. Tessa Word emerged as a standout performer, delivering three hits, including a home run and three RBIs.
Haley Hollyhand and Emily Hall also made notable contributions, demonstrating their prowess both at the plate and in the field. Hall's strategic play behind the plate helped guide the team's pitching efforts to contain Snead State's offense.
On the defensive side, Lily Boswell and Katie Simon displayed pitching prowess, collectively stifling Snead State's batting lineup. Despite facing a resilient opponent, the Wallace State pitching duo showcased composure and skill, ultimately securing the victory for their team.
