Lady Lions defeat Bishop State 79-53

Hanceville, AL — The Wallace State Community College women’s basketball team achieved a 79-53 win over Bishop State Community College on Feb. 29, 2024, at Traditions Bank Arena in Tom Drake Coliseum.

Kallie Tinker of Pisgah led Wallace State’s offense, scoring 27 points, including eight three-pointers. She also contributed four rebounds. Jaden Winfrey of Cullman added 22 points, five rebounds and was effective from the free-throw line, nailing five shots taken. 

Emariah Grant and Nylaa Fuller, both of Huntsville, were also key contributors. Grant scored 12 points, made four steals and provided six assists. Fuller posted a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.

The game started with a competitive first quarter, with Wallace State leading 14-9. The Lions extended their lead in the second quarter, finishing the half up with 33-24 on the board. They maintained their momentum in the third and fourth quarters, securing a 79-53 victory.

Wallace State's shooting percentage was 42.4 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from three-point range. Bishop State hit 31.5 percent of their shots from the field and 8.3 percent from beyond the arc.
