Women's Basketball team defeats Lawson State Community College 65-55
Hanceville, AL — The Wallace State Community College women's basketball team secured a 66-55 victory over Lawson State Community College at their campus on Feb. 19, 2024.
Kallie Tinker of Pisgah led Wallace State's offense with 19 points, shooting both from the field and from beyond the arc. Emariah Grant of Huntsville added 18 points, including four three-pointers. Layla Etchison of Hoover contributed 14 points, hitting four field goals and making five free throws.
On the defensive end, Jaden Winfrey of Cullman grabbed nine rebounds, while Nylaa Fuller of Huntsville collected seven rebounds and scored seven points. Ella Collum of Cullman provided five rebounds and led the team with three assists. The team's overall shooting percentage was 43.1 percent, with a three-point shooting percentage of 36.7 percent and a free throw percentage of 68.8 percent.
