Lady Lions defeat Southern Union 66-32

Hanceville, AL — The Wallace State Lady Lions secured a 66-32 victory against Southern Union State Community College on Jan. 22, 2024, at the Southern Union Sports Arena in Wadley.

The Lady Lions showcased their skill and teamwork, led by standout performances from Layla Etchison of Hoover and Jaden Winfrey of Cullman, who contributed 16 and 18 points respectively. Ella Collum of Cullman and Emariah Grant of Huntsville also made significant contributions, adding 13 and 10 points to Wallace State's tally. Kallie Tinker of Pisgah displayed her scoring ability, chipping in with 10 points off the bench, further bolstering the Lady Lions' offense.

Defensively, the Lady Lions demonstrated their strength, holding Southern Union to just 32 points for the game. Nylaa Fuller of Huntsville’s nine rebounds and strong defensive presence were instrumental in limiting Southern Union's scoring opportunities.
