Wallace State Lady Lions beat Lawson State 71-69

Hanceville, AL — The Wallace State Community College women's basketball team secured a hard-fought 71-69 victory against Lawson State Community College on Jan. 21, 2024, at Tom Drake Arena.

In a closely contested game, the Lady Lions demonstrated their resilience and determination on both ends of the court. Led by standout performances from Emariah Grant of Huntsville and Jaden Winfrey of Cullman, who contributed 17 and 29 points respectively, Wallace State's offense pulled through.

Ella Collum of Cullman and Layla Etchison of Hoover provided crucial support, adding six and 11 points respectively to the team's tally. Nylaa Fuller of Huntsville was also instrumental, as she amassed 15 rebounds throughout the game.

Despite a strong challenge from Lawson State, Wallace State's defense and efficient free-throw shooting ultimately secured the victory for the Lady Lions.
