Wallace State defeats Cleveland State 80-70
Hanceville, AL – After two tough losses to Gadsden State and Roane State, the Wallace State Lions men’s basketball team bounced by with an 80-70 win on the road against Cleveland State.
The Lions were led by standout freshman guard Jimmie Williams, of Cleveland, Ohio, who scored 27 points. Sophomore center PJ Eason of Dadeville, freshman guard Authur Johnson of Carrollton, Ga., and sophomore guard Jalin Anglin of Jackson, Tenn., each scored 15 points. Williams pulled down nine rebounds, Anglin had eight, Johnson had seven and Eason had six.
Wallace State's dominated in the paint, from where they scored 42 points.
Wallace State capitalized on turnovers, scoring 16 points off Cleveland State's mistakes, while also capitalizing on second chance opportunities.
The win brings the Lions record to 10-3 for the season.
