Machine Tool Technology courses among expansion of evening class offerings
Hanceville, AL — Wallace State Community College is expanding its evening class offerings, with new classes offered along with the traditional academic courses normally available at night.
“With many students working during the day, evening classes offer this population the opportunity to fulfill their dream of college and career advancement,” said Jerry Murcks, Associate Dean of Applied Technologies.
The college’s Machine Tool Technology program is offering evening classes starting with the Spring 2024 semester that begins Jan. 8, 2024.
Machine Tool Technology has scheduled courses in Basic Print Reading for Machinists and Introduction to Machine Shop I. Both 90-minute classes will be held Monday and Tuesday, with the former beginning at 5:30 p.m. and the latter at 7:30 p.m., allowing students to complete the two classes consecutively. Both classes are part of the associate degree and/or certificate options for Machine Tool Technology, CNC and Tool & Die Repair.
Starting in Fall 2024, the Wallace State Department of Nursing Education will offer evening nursing classes. More details will be announced soon.
For the Spring 2024 semester, Wallace State’s evening classes on the main campus also include the following subjects: Biology, Business, Computer Science, Criminal Justice, Dance, Economics, English, Heath Education, History, Mathematics, Office Administration, Orientation, Paralegal, Physical Education and Real Estate.
The Oneonta Center is offering evening classes in Biology, Chemistry, Criminal Justice, Ethics, Mathematics and Orientation for the Spring 2024 semester.
Wallace State also offers online and hybrid options in many subjects, along with the traditional in-person day classes.

Registration for the Spring 2024 semester is currently underway, with classes beginning Jan 8 for regular and Mini Term I and March 6 for Mini Term II. Registration for Flex Start I courses will be held Jan. 13-19, with classes starting Jan. 15 and registration for Flex Start II courses will be held Jan. 20-26, with classes starting Jan. 22.
