Women's Basketball clinches victory against Northeast Mississippi Community College

Hanceville, AL — The Wallace State Community College women's basketball team secured a hard-fought victory against Northeast Mississippi Community College on Nov. 16 2023 at Traditions Bank Arena in Tom Drake Coliseum. Despite a strong challenge from Northeast Mississippi, Wallace State emerged with a final score of 73-66.

Throughout the game, the Lady Lions showcased a balanced offensive effort, with several players contributing to the victory. Jaden Winfrey of Cullman led the charge with an impressive 20 points, supported by Emariah Grant of Huntsville and Nylaa Fuller of Huntsville, who added 13 points each to the scoreboard.

Wallace State’s defense was strong throughout the game, forcing Northeast Mississippi into turnovers and capitalizing on fast-break opportunities. Notable defensive performances came from Ella Collum of Cullman, Layla Etchison of Hoover and Kallie Tinker of Pisgah, who combined for seven steals.

Despite a sluggish second quarter, Wallace State rallied in the second half, outscoring Northeast Mississippi in both the third and fourth quarters to secure the 73-66 win.
