Wallace State dominates in season opener against Volunteer State
Hanceville, AL — Wallace State Community College men’s basketball started the season strong with an on-the-road win over Volunteer State Community College. Led by standout performances from PJ Eason, Tyson Walker, and Jimmie Williams, Wallace State dominated both ends of the court.
Eason, the 6’9” sophomore center from Dadeville, held a commanding presence in the paint, securing rebounds with authority and converting them into crucial second-chance points. His stat line of 16 points and 15 rebounds underscored his impact on the game, earning him the admiration of fans and opponents alike.
Meanwhile, Walker, a 6’0” freshman guard from Des Moines, Iowa, electrified the crowd with his sharpshooting from beyond the arc, draining four three-pointers to keep the scoreboard ticking. His knack for finding the open shot, coupled with his defensive intensity, made him a force to be reckoned with throughout the game.
Not to be outdone, 6’5” freshman guard Williams, of Cleveland, Ohio, displayed his scoring versatility, attacking the basket with relentless aggression while also showcasing his outside shooting touch. His game-high 25 points, combined with stellar defense and playmaking ability, cemented his status as a true leader on the court.
As the final buzzer sounded, Wallace State emerged victorious with a commanding 101-80 win, marking an emphatic start to their season.
