More than 80 athletes named to ACCC Commissioner’s Honor Roll
Hanceville, AL — Wallace State Community College is proud to announce that more than 80 student athletes earned recognition by Alabama Community College Conference for academic excellence for the Spring 2023 semester by obtaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Student athletes who earn a GPA of 3.0 or higher are placed on the ACCC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
"These student-athletes and teams should be extremely proud of themselves, as they have balanced academics with practice and games," stated Commissioner Dean Myrick. "I am very proud of them, along with the faculty and staff at our amazing colleges for the work they do in preparing our student-athletes for life outside of athletics."
The Wallace State teams earning 3.0 GPA or higher for the Spring 2023 semester include men’s cross country (3.32), women’s cross country (3.54), men’s golf (3.48), women’s golf (3.65), softball (3.72), men’s tennis (3.87), women’s tennis (3.24) and volleyball (3.89).
Seven of these teams also earned ACCC conference titles for the 2022-2023 academic year: men’s and women’s cross country, women’s golf, softball, men’s and women’s tennis and volleyball.
“We are extremely proud of these student athletes who have excelled not only on the field of play, but also in the classroom,” said Wallace State President Dr. Vicki Karolewics. “They have shown the dedication and commitment it takes to perform at their best athletically and academically. Congratulations to you all.”

Registration is underway for summer Mini Term II and Fall 2023. Summer Mini Term II classes begin June 30. Fall 2023 classes begin Aug. 18.
